Lake Chelan State Park is a 139-acre park on the south shore of Lake Chelan, just 5 minutes south of Kelly’s Resort, in beautiful Washington State. The park is an ideal stopover, when boating on Lake Chelan from Kelly’s. Pack up the boat (or car) and head over! The park has 495 feet of dock, which makes traveling by boat via Kelly’s a fun quick trip.

The park’s 6,000 feet of sandy shoreline beckons swimmers, paddle boarders, and beachcombers.  It also features a lagoon, where it’s easy to spend an afternoon floating on the calm waters. Paddle boards are available for rent.  

The large, grassy play field is the perfect place to get the family together for a game. There’s also a kitchen shelter, over 50 picnic tables, horseshoe pits, volleyball court, and children’s playground. The park features .2 miles of ADA hiking trails in addition to 2 miles of other hiking trails.

Fishing and Boating at Lake Chelan State Park

All Washington State Parks require a recreational license for fishing and shellfish harvesting.  Visit the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife website for fishing season information, regulations, and to purchase a recreational license.  

The park has a single lane launch, and 495 get of dock for boaters. Launching at the State Park requires one of the following:

  • Annual launch permit (Natural Investment Permit).
  • Annual Discover Pass and a daily launch permit.
  • 1-day Discover Pass & daily launch permit.

Daily launch permits and trailer dumping permits are available at the park. Annual permits are available online. You can also acquire them from park staff, region offices, and the State Parks Headquarters in Olympia. Docks, floats, and buoys incur moorage fees between 1pm and 8am.

Note: Lake Chelan State Park is closed from November through February. Kelly’s Resort is closed November through March.
