Echo Ridge Trails

Looking to hit the trail? Great idea! The Chelan area is home to a variety of excellent hiking opportunities, many within easy distance of our lakeside resort. The popular Echo Ridge Trails System offers a variety of loop trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.

Echo Ridge was initially developed for cross-country skiing. A few trails for snowshoeing were also thrown in for good measure.  Over 26 miles of trails that climb over rolling hills, circle ridge tops, and pass through broad gullies. The breadth of the trail system means that, even on a busy days, you can retain a sense of peace and solitude.

In winter, the trails are expertly groomed but, come the warmer weather, they make excellent routes for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.

The Echo Ridge Trailheads are a scenic, 45 minute drive from Kelly’s Resort. Take State highway 97 into downtown Chelan, then head west on State Highway 150 towards Manson. In about 1.5 miles, you’ll take a right on Boyd Road and follow it and the signs to the Echo Ridge ski area.

One of the many reasons Echo Ridge is so popular are the area’s stunning, expansive views. These include Lake Chelan, the Stewart Range, the Enchantments, Pyramid Peak, the Okanogan Highlands, and Columbia Plateau. This is true even in winter, as Echo Ridge is typically higher than the clouds that cover the valley in the winter.

Most Echo Ridge trails are wide, easy, and suitable for all ages.  Some highly technical, single track trails are also available for those looking for more challenge and adventure. Echo Ridge Trails are very well marked and maintained annually. Most have maps posted.

Visit the forest service website for maps and more information.

Lake Chelan has more than 250 miles of trails to explore. If you find choosing one difficult, let us know. Kelly’s Resort is here to help guide you to some of the more popular Lake Chelan hiking trails.

We love sharing the valley with our guests!
