Lady of the Lake Chelan Boat Company offers one of the best boat tours in the Pacific Northwest. The cruise from Chelan to Stehekin has been lauded by National Geographic, Sunset Magazine, The New York Times, and many others. Come see why!
In many ways, Lake Chelan is two different lakes.
The southeast end of the lake is home to the town of Chelan, with its shops, attractions, water skiers, golf, and so forth. The farther you travel up the narrow, 50.5 mile long lake, however, the more wild it becomes. A realm of deep forests, distant rocky peaks, myriad wildlife, hikers, and campers. At the lake’s very northern end lies the small community of Stehekin and the North Cascades National Recreation Area.
No roads lead to the head waters of Lake Chelan. Getting to Stehekin and viewing the length of the lake requires other modes of transport. Private boat, float plane, or even by helicopter are options. So, too, is hiking or trail riding.
One of the best and most popular ways, however, is via a Lady of the Lake Chelan boat tour!
Lady Of The Lake
The Lady of the Lake has been ferrying passengers up lake and back for over 100 years. A voyage called a “must see” by numerous publications, including National Geographic and Sunset Magazine.
Lady of the Lake passenger service between Chelan and Stehekin is available year ’round. The route includes scheduled stops at both Fields Point and Lucerne.
Fields Point is just minutes away from both Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park and Kelly’s Resort.
The port of Lucerne provides access to Refrigerator Harbor Campground and the unique mountain community of Holden Village.
Cruising Lake Chelan
A Lake Chelan cruise can take a variety of forms between the company’s two boats: Lady of the Lake II and the Lady Express.
A round trip up the lake and back on the Lady of the Lake II, with a 90 minute layover in Stehekin, is an all day affair: 8:30am to 6pm.
A Lady Express round trip, with a 60 minute Stehekin layover, is only a little over 6 hours.
The combo trip, which has you on the Express up and the Lady II back, is another 9.5 hour trip but provides a 3 hour layover in Stehekin.
